Default Drupal behavior is to show the user's history, a section which displays only the amount of time a member has been registered for and a link to his blog posts.
"Alter profile page" allows developers to show extra information on that page, like his online/offline status, the date of his registration or the last time he was online.
This enables webmasters to create more social-friendly profile pages, where other users can get more "relevant" information about another user.
The "Alter profile page" module is great when using Drupal as a social networking site or discussion board.
Installation:
Login the Drupal administration panel.
Go to Modules section.
Upload the module or copy&paste the module download URL.
Find and activate the module after installation in the modules list.
